Steve Ranford is a key figure at the forefront of Worcester's house music scene. In addition to his residency at The Pheasant and Bar 11 in Worcester he is very well known for playing at Velvet Lounge, Mode, Source and newly opened 360 Degrees.
Steve began his fascination with DJing over a decade ago after a fascination with rave mixtapes led to him investing in a pair of Technics 1210's and mixer where he spent the many hours necessary to learn how to mix and DJ.
A house music fanatic, whether it be house, funky, tech or progressive, Steve spent his weekends searching the Midlands' best record shops looking for those hidden gems and hands-in-the-air anthems that lead everyone to the dancefloor. An embracement of digital DJ technology means he can access an even wider range of house music than ever which guarantees his sets are always interesting, exciting and up-to-date.
His first gig came in the form of a Thursday night residency at the infamous Worcester Courtyard going back-to-back with Tomas Caitling.
After a hiatus, Steve secured his place at the heart of Worcester nightlife in 2007 with his Friday night at Velvet Lounge and his current Saturday night residency at Bar 11 where he plays the style of house music he is famous for to Worcester's enthusiastic crowds.
